With deep reverence and love, with great sadness, I must share the passing of Gale Ethridge—a treasured board member, lifelong friend, and faithful servant whose legacy of integrity and biblical counsel has shaped me, and the heart of IOM America. He crossed over to be with the Lord at 11 a.m. on August 4, 2025.

Gale Ethridge entered his eternal rest, not as one defeated by death, but as one clothed in the victory of Christ Yeshua/Jesus.

A lifelong farmer, he sowed more than seed—he cultivated generations through faith, wisdom, and unwavering love. As a husband, father, and grandfather, Gale embodied the spirit of Joshua 24:15: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” His home was a sanctuary of integrity, gentleness, and godly example.

It’s hard to put into words the weight that now hangs in our hearts. Jane and I are grieving beyond measure—the kind of grief that wraps itself around your ribs and won’t let go. Gale wasn’t just a friend; he was our friend. The only best friend I had in Kansas. The one who never wavered, never doubted, never left.

I Am Not What I Did

There was a time when I believed that my identity was rooted in my actions. If I succeeded, I was valuable. If I failed, I was worthless. My name is Joshua, and here is my Exchanged Life story. From a very young age, I was acutely aware that I was different. The rejection I faced in my childhood was relentless and soul-crushing. At school, I was often the target of cruel teasing and isolation. My peers saw me as an outsider, someone who didn’t belong. The emotional scars ran deep and followed me into my adolescence. I spent countless nights questioning my worth and place in this world, grappling with feelings of abandonment and loneliness.

Despite the turmoil, there was always a glimmer of hope within me, a faint whisper that there was more to life than the pain I was experiencing. This can breed pride, insecurity, and even deception, as believers tailor their actions to impress others rather than walk in obedience to God’s will. Over time, reliance on earthly affirmation can weaken spiritual discernment, making it harder to distinguish between God’s truth and fleeting human opinions.

Jesus Himself warned against seeking the approval of man over the approval of God, emphasizing that true reward comes from the Father. The greatest danger is that misplaced validation can lead believers to distance themselves from authentic faith, replacing worship with performance rather than heartfelt surrender.

My name is Michael. They called me "The Shadow" in the underworld of the Mafia. I was the man who orchestrated the unthinkable, a figure feared by many and recognized by few. The underworld was my kingdom, and I reigned with an iron fist, navigating through a labyrinth of crime and corruption. While I was a mastermind in real estate, my life was a symphony of chaos, and I was its conductor.

My life is a testament to the power of Christ, redemption, and the unyielding new identity within my wife and me – the identity of Christ in us. My name is Bruce, and my Exchanged Life story is a miracle.

I used to think that life was nothing more than a series of random events, where each moment was just another chance happening in a vast, indifferent universe. As an atheist, I struggled with finding a deeper meaning or purpose. My days were filled with a sense of emptiness and a constant search for something to fill the void.

That all changed one evening during a heated debate with Dr. Phinney, a man whose passion for his faith was as intense as my skepticism. I initially saw it as just another debate, another chance to prove my points and dismantle religious arguments. But Dr. Phinney was different. His unwavering conviction and the depth of his understanding of Yeshua were unlike anything I had encountered before.

For all you atheists out there, take it from one who has been there and done that: there is no such thing as an atheist. In order to deny something, one must first believe that something exists. This single statement from Dr. Phinney is what turned me around.
